They are the perfect environmentally friendly alternative to conventional disposable cups. which are lined with polyethythene (PE), a finite, oil based resource, which can be harmful to our environment. Recently PLA (Polyactic Acid) compostable cups were introduced which are made from a plant based plastic lining, but these must be disposed of in specialised bins and reach a specialised waste facility for the cups to be industrially composted. It was hoped that PLA would become the answer, however, the sheer difficulty in recycling and the fact that it creates micro-plastics means it doesn’t meet EU Single Use Plastic Directive.

Real Eco cups meet all the EU directives for single use and are 100% plastic & PLA free. Additionally, all our cup board is sourced from sustainably managed forestry and is either FSC or PEFC accredited. As our cups are manufactured in the UK. it doesn’t have to travel thousands of miles around the world to get to its final destination.
